THE WRONG PROBLEM · A CONVERSATION WITH THE O8

What problem have you got?

Tell us. Then let's find out whether it's the one you're actually facing. One hour. No diagnostic, no application to agonise over, no sales call.

THE PREMISE

Sometimes the problem isn't the problem

You have more answers available to you than any business owner in history. Coaches, courses, communities, Google, AI. Finding an answer stopped being the hard part.

The hard part is knowing whether you're asking the right question. You can spend two years solving the problem you believe you have, while the real one sits somewhere else entirely.

CAME IN SAYING

"I need more customers."

TURNED OUT TO BE

Pricing. Plenty of customers, no margin.

CAME IN SAYING

"My team won't take responsibility."

TURNED OUT TO BE

Nobody could act without asking first.

BEFORE YOU BOOK

Two things this isn't

Worth knowing now rather than fifteen minutes in.

We won't solve it

An hour isn't enough to fix anything, and you know your business far better than we ever will. We're not going to hand you a plan or tell you what to do. What we can do is help you see what's actually happening, which is usually the part that's stuck.

It isn't a platform

We won't be interviewing you about how you built the business. There's no plug, no "where can people find you", no chance to talk about what you sell. If you want exposure, there are hundreds of shows that will give you an hour. This one only works if you bring something you haven't worked out yet.

WHO THIS IS FOR

It only works one way

We ask a lot of questions, and some of them are uncomfortable. That's the hour.

If what you want is to talk about what's working, this is the wrong room.

What the hour is

You say the number out loud, including the one you'd rather not

We ask about the thing you've been going round for a year

Somebody says "that isn't your actual problem", and it lands

You leave with a better question rather than a compliment

What it isn't

An hour of airtime for your business

Us agreeing with a decision you've already made

An answer that stays inside the version of events you arrived with

A conversation where nothing you believe gets touched

THE TRADE

It's free. Here's the trade.

The conversation is recorded. If it's useful to other business owners, it becomes an episode of the podcast.

Not every conversation becomes an episode. We decide afterwards, and we don't explain the decision.

You approve the recording before anything is published

You can stop the recording at any point, for any reason

Nothing goes out without you saying yes

Either way, you get The O8 Take — our written read on what we think is actually going on. Free for the first month of conversations, $28 after that

WHO YOU GET

You'll find out when you get there

Pick a time that suits you. Whoever is free at that hour is who you'll be talking to. We're not telling you in advance, and we're not letting you choose.

Partly that's practical — we're in opposite time zones and the overlap is narrow. Mostly it's because you shouldn't have to work out what kind of help you need before you've had the conversation. Take the slot. See who turns up.

BOOK

Tell us what's going on

Write it the way you'd say it to someone in the pub. We don't need it tidy.

The questions below are the first part of the conversation. Answer them the way you'd answer them at 11pm, not the way you'd answer them at a networking event.

NO SALES CALL · NO APPLICATION PROCESS · IF WE'RE NOT THE RIGHT PEOPLE FOR IT, WE'LL SAY SO

Anyone can book. We're saying this now so the hour isn't a surprise.
